The following organizations received grants: First Christian Church of San Jose has brought in the regionally renowned director of an interracial gospel choir to do a series of practices with members of their church and surrounding Disciples and ecumenical congregations and a series of performances. FCC San Jose will also use this time to reflect on issues relating to diversity in their own congregation. First Christian Church of Concord is incorporating documentary film making into their annual Mexico mission trip, so that the story of the people in Tijuana and the effects of globalization can be told at the same time that the youth's important work on building housing continues. Interfaith Ministries of Marin County is blessed by a Disciples pastor who serves as a chaplain to the street community there. Part of Pastor Paul Gaffney's gift to the region has been a willingness to preach, teach and reflect with congregations seeking to live our their call to unsheltered people.
