At the New Church Summit in 2006 our Region set a God-Sized Goal of starting 40 new churches in Northern California and Nevada by the year 2020.

Can we do it? You bet! But it is only possible with God's help and with the support of our brothers and sisters in faith throughout the Region and the wider Church. That means YOU!

This picture of New Spring Christian Church was taken on March 25th when Regional Minister Ben Bohren joined them for worship. This church is one of our newest in 2007.


PENTECOST 2007 SPECIAL OFFERING
This special offering will take place in nearly all Disciples of Christ churches on May 20 and 27 and June 3. As we celebrate Pentecost (the birth of the Church) we offer thanks for the many new churches that have begun and will begin through New Church Movements both here and around the world. Half of all offerings received in the Pentecost special offering will remain in this Region for New Church ministries, and half will be used to support the New Church Movement in our General Church.

These churches are chartered and were born out of the New Church Movement since 2000.

CHURCHES IN FORMATION IN CCNC-N

These churches have entered into a covenantal relationship with this Region and are working together with the New Church Movement committee as they develop into chartered congregations.

• New Spirit Community Church in Berkeley
• First Korean Christian Church in Oakland (Korean language)

There are several other churches in visioning stages or in consideration of affiliating with the Disciples of Christ in this Region. We will add them to this list as they become 'official.'

It's now official. New Church Ministry, a ministry of Church Extension, recently revealed that 500 new Disciples churches have been started around the country since 2001. This is half way to our goal of beginning 1,000 new churches by the year 2020! Read more.
