Reverend Faye Orton Snyder (B.A., MDiv.) has been a member of the Lafayette Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregation (LCC) for 50 years. She obtained her Master of Divinity degree from Pacific School of Religion (PSR) in 1987 and began her ministry as LCC’s Associate Pastor. She became the Senior Pastor in 1993, served on the Advisory Committee for the Disciples Seminary Foundation (DSF), and spent the next 16 years caring for her congregation’s faith formation and spiritual growth, training dozens of seminary students, and serving until her retirement in 2009. The congregation honored Faye as its “Pastor Emerita” in 2023. She currently serves on the DSF Board. Since 2009, Faye has worked primarily as a Facilitator, prepared and trained by “The Center for Courage & Renewal,” to help clergy stay in their call to ministry through ongoing monthly “Circle of Trust” groups and by leading retreats for spiritual and congregational leaders. She is the co-author of “A Geography of Grace”, which illuminates the intersection of the inner life with the outer, natural world. With her husband, Steve, they can be found out on the road as “Grandma and Grandpa Uber”, cherishing their seven children and 18 grandchildren, and making pool party waffles by the dozens!
